Assassin’s Creed Mirage Haptic Suit Lets You Feel In-game Combat
The idea of wearing a haptic suit to experience physical sensations while gaming is revolutionary. We've seen the concept envisioned in many movies, such as when protagonist Wade Watts used it in the film Ready Player One. However, the idea of using one ourselves never occurred to us. That's probably because most of us think a haptic suit is still a long way off, but to many people's surprise, it's already arriving on our doorstep.
Made in partnership with the video game peripheral company OWO, Ubisoft is releasing an Assassin's Creed Mirage-themed haptics suit that will allow players to feel over 30 different physical in-game sensations. Everything from punches and stabs to wind gusts and bugs crawling on you. Essentially, the haptic suit works similarly to the PS5 DualSense controller, but instead of just feeling the action in your hands, you can now feel it throughout your entire torso.
More Details on the Assassin's Creed Mirage Haptic Suit
The OWO's haptic suit has haptic points on your chest, stomach, lower back, and arms. Using a mobile app you can calibrate the sensations to your liking and even replace them with new ones. Nonetheless, we're all a little curious about what it actually feels like. I mean, getting stabbed isn't exactly exciting, but if it means improving our video game immersion, we're all for it. Simultaneously, with this shirt on, we'll be more cautious about getting hit in games than ever before.
The Assassin's Creed Mirage Haptic suit will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. We don't yet know the price or release date, but we expect OWO and Ubisoft to reveal those details nearing the October 12 release date for Assassin's Creed Mirage. So, make sure you stay tuned to Gaming.net and the OWO page to know when it releases.
