The Marvel franchise is the gift that keeps on giving. From cinema to gaming, there's plenty in store for Marvel fans. In line with this tradition, Second Dinner has unveiled an innovative and action-packed collectible card game showcasing the most iconic characters from the Marvel Universe. Diving into this new game will feel like coming home for those familiar with Card Guardians or Hearthstone.

In every card collector or battler game, the key to success lies in crafting a remarkable deck. While some games might have challenging deck-building mechanics, Marvel simplifies the process, making it accessible to all. Still, it can be quite a challenge to grasp the essentials of building a formidable deck. Fret not, as we've got your back.

Whether you're a seasoned expert or a fresh-faced newcomer to card battles, get ready to uncover the Best decks in Marvel Snap (2023).

5. Zoo

marvel snap zoo deck card

This deck primarily holds 1-Cost cards and centers on the legendary comic book hero, Ka-Zar, also known as Kevin Plunder. Players can spread domination over the three locations with this deck using cheap cards. In most cases, this play confuses your opponent since they become unsure which area to play.

While this is a grand strategy to outcompete your opponent, getting most 1-Cost cards is challenging. Mainly because the Collection comes with only a handful of them, but fret not; you can still get the most out of the game with a Zoo Deck.

A formidable Pool 3 Zoo deck must feature the likes of Dracula, Ka-Zar, The Infinaut, Zero, Ant-Man, Sunspot, Iceman, and Squirrel Girl. To achieve optimal results, complement these cards with the inclusion of Cosmo, Lizard, and Armor.

However, beware of the lurking threat of Killmonger when wielding a Zoo Deck, as this card excels at obliterating 1-cost cards in play. You can counter this menace by strategically placing Armor in one location and stacking higher-cost cards in the other, rendering Killmonger's attack strategy less effective. This deck is ideal for novice learners to grasp what each card and their combos are capable of unleashing.

Here's the Zoo deck list:

1-cost: Zero, Ant-Man, Squirrel Girl. Sunspot, Iceman

2-cost: Lizard, Armor

3-cost: Cosmo

4-cost: Ka-Zar, Dracula

5-cost: Red Skull

6-cost: The Infinaut

4. Sera

Sera Monkey or Sera Miracle cards are extremely powerful. Almost as powerful as the Destroyer deck, which calls for you to know all your options. This deck is comparable to Bounce, although it doesn't come close to its absolute power. Nevertheless, you have solid prospects for Shang Chi, Enchantress, and Killmonger.

Sera grants you the power to unleash top-tier combos by reducing all your card costs by 1. This deck can give you victory over two or more locations in the right hands. However, you need to be creative in your thinking. For this reason, this deck is ideal for seasoned veterans or, if you're willing to put in work, learn the ropes of the game.

Here's a breakdown of the Sera Control deck:

1-cost: Kitty Pryde, Nova

2-cost: Angela, Scarlet Witch, Invisible Woman, Mysterio

3-cost: Bishop, Hit-Monkey, Killmonger

4-cost: Shang-Chi, Enchantress

5-cost: Sera

3. Discard

Discard deck

With the launch of M.O.D.O.K, Discard is proving to be a formidable choice that is reasonably consistent. This deck has a simple premise to it; discard the right card. In this case, we advise you to use Apocalypse as often as possible.

You simply can't go wrong with this deck unless you discard the wrong card. To avoid this risk, you can include America Chavez. Nebula is a crucial card in this deck; however, if you miss out on it, you can swap it with Sunspot. You can also swap Storm for Swordmaster. However, pairing Storm with Dracula works well.

Here's the deck list:

1-cost: Nebula

2-cost: Morbius, Wolverine, Swarm, Colleen Wing

3-cost: Storm, Lady Sif

4-cost: Dracula, Hell Cow

5-cost: M.O.D.O.K.

6-cost: Apocalypse, America Chavez

2. Zabu 4-cost

Another deck that you can't miss out on is Zabu. It is simply one of the best decks in Marvel Snap for its Ongoing ability. With this, you can reduce the cost of 4-cost cards by two. Moreover, you can also combine the deck with plenty of potent 4-cost cards.

Zabu is a powerful card, which, when combined with the likes of Shang-Chi, Shuri, and Moon Girl, you get enough power to oust your competitor. While some may believe that Stature decks don't make the cut, it depends on your game's strategy. If you find that the deck needs to be more formidable, you can replace Moon Girl, Lizard, Iron Lad, or Stegron.

Moreover, you can include various combos such as Absorbing Man and Shuri or Darkhawk and Black Widow.

Here's the deck list:

1-cost: Nebula, Korg

2-cost: Zabu, Jeff

3-cost: Polaris

4-cost: Darkhawk, Shang-Chi, Enchantress, Miles Morales, Rock Slide

5-cost: Stature, Black Bolt

1. Kitty Bounce

Kitty Bounce

Unbeknownst to most, low-cost cards can also unleash a major win. Kitty Pryde is a 1/0, placing the card in the low-cost category. But this card will keep low cards bouncing back to your deck. When Kitty Pryde returns to hand, the card gains a +2 power. When you combine these cards with The Hood, Falcon, Hit-Monkey, or Best, you can conquer all locations in 6 turns or fewer.

Furthermore, the introduction of Kitty Pryde has had a notable impact on the Dino archetype. The card enhances its strength significantly by creating a formidable combination with The Collector.

So, witness the mesmerizing dance of low-cost mastery as Kitty Pryde and her loyal companions strategically weave through the game, reclaiming their cards and reshaping the battlefield to their advantage

Here's the deck list:

1-cost: Kitty Pryde, The Hood,

2-cost: Angela, Mysterio, Jeff, The Collector

3-cost: Bishop, Pit-monkey, Beast

5-cost: Iron Man

6-cost: America Chavez

Brawl games, also known as brawlers or beat 'em ups, offer a unique and enjoyable gaming experience, from the fast-paced action to getting to knock the snort out of opponents as your favorite characters.

Nickelodeon, the network of animated wonders, joins the likes of Super Smash Bros and Brawhalla with their exclusive Nickelodeon Super Brawl series. Here, SpongeBob no longer lives in a pineapple under the sea but is out unleashing blows of fury.

The series launched its first console title in 2021 to ‘mixed or average reviews from Metacritic. Now the studio is back at it with a sequel, hoping to right their wrongs. Will the new title give the franchise a boost? Let's find out below as we draw parallels and similarities in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl vs Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

What is Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl?

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is Ludosity and Flair Play Labs' first dip into the brawling genre. The game is a platform fighter where players take on other Nickelodeon animated characters in a marked arena. Hence, the title; platform fighter. The only way to win the game is to deal damage to your opponents, making it easier to knock them out of the arena.

What's more, the game uses the Super Smash Bros concept but spruces it with faster gameplay. This makes the game a worthy contender for Smash Ultimate, where the characters are aggressive and fast.

Moreover, the game contains 25 characters drawn from 17 Nickelodeon shows; each character is playable with close to 18 moves that they can execute. The characters also get their own stage based on their series. If you see a stage from the Avatar series, best believe your favorite Avatar character is coming out to play.

The best part about this game is the revival of old characters like Powdered Toast Man. For Nickelodeon fans, this game could turn out to be a smashing trip down memory lane.

What is Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2?

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2

After the launch of the first game, developers, Ludosity and Fair Play Labs are still working to unveil the sequel to the first title. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is an upcoming title that will continue the brawling adventures of beloved Nickelodeon characters.

For the avoidance of doubt, the game is a platform fighter pitting characters from various Nickelodeon franchises against each other.

The game clearly tells us the characters have not seen the last of their days as wrestlers. Expect to see Patrick back at it again, belly-slamming opponents into oblivion. However, this time the developers have a few tricks up their sleeves. The upcoming title promises new characters and improved gameplay.

Some new characters you will be seeing are; Gerald and Grandma Gertie (Hey Anorld), Ember (Danny Phantom), Nobert and Dagget (Angry Beavers), Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender), and El Tigre (El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera). A leaked artwork showcases the following five characters who may also be in the upcoming title's character roster; Donatello and Raphael (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Jimmy Neutron (Jimmy Neutron), Squidward (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Vlad Plasmius (Danny Phantom).

According to the developers,” Rebuilt and reimagined from the ground up, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 redefines what a Nickelodeon fighting game can be with new and revamped visuals, audio, animations, modes, stages, mechanics, taunts and move sets, competitively tuned for all levels of play”. Thankfully, we won't have to wait through epochs for its launch. Developers have confirmed the game's release across major platforms in Fall 2024.

Our article here tells you more about the upcoming Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

Gameplay

Foremost, as a brawler, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's gameplay is straightforward. You don't need to master instructions, since it's a relatively easy game to pick up and play.

Onto characters, the first title bestows your character with basic moves. You'll be able to run, jump, do a double jump, or a midair dash. Regardless of whom you choose as your wrestler, every character gets three distinct attacks; light, strong, and special. As you might have guessed, each attack varies in its damage output. The former is weak but quick, the middle is slower but powerful, and the latter varies with character.

Moreover, the game's fast-paced gameplay primarily sets it apart from other brawlers. This, in addition to its defense techniques. Unlike other games where spot dodging and rolling are your options, blocking or negating an attack is the only way to defend your character.

In contrast, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 will stick to the tradition of 2D platform fighting. However, distinctions are present in its gameplay. Characters will get new move sets as well as horizontal attacks. The developer confirms the elevated gameplay as a “totally new fighting game experience.”

Moreover, the game introduces a Slime Meter that powers up your attacks and defenses. Once the meter fills up, you can opt to power up a special attack or activate your character's super abilities.

Furthermore, characters on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl' 2 will have an improved design compared to the previous game. The developers said to Polygon, “We put a lot of effort into making each character feel unique, so we can cater to different types of gameplay.”

Verdict

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Vs Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2

The imminent arrival of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has ignited a frenzy among gamers, eagerly anticipating its release. It's akin to unwrapping a brand-new car, peeling off the polythene from the seats and dashboard, and basking in the allure of that fresh car scent. The outlook is brimming with excitement for the first drive, even though the actual performance remains a mystery. These very emotions mirror our anticipation for this upcoming game. While the developers promise significant improvements, we hope it addresses the lackluster aspects of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

Until the sequel arrives, we'll remain loyal to what we already know. When it comes to the ultimate question of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl vs Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, our preference lies with the former.

There you go, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl vs Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 ? Do you have a preference? Will you be picking up Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.

From a top-down perspective, you wouldn’t necessarily associate Roblox, a family-friendly gaming platform with one too many wholehearted indie games, with the world of horror. Alas, its catalog actually has a fair amount of such, few of which claim the top spots in the entire catalog — even in 2023, when the vast majority of its entries are platform or simulation-based. It’s no wonder, then, why so many survival and horror-obsessed players are looking to find stable ground in the oddly dynamic block-studded world as of late.

So, which horror games are actually worth checking out on Roblox this month? Are there any upcoming indies that you should shift your attention towards before month’s end? Here’s what you should know about the best horror games on Roblox in August 2023.

5. Cheese Escape

If you’re the sort of person who finds the likes of holes and craters clustered together the slightest bit disturbing, then you’re going to absolutely hate Cheese Escape, an escape room-like puzzle game in which players must navigate a maze made entirely out of cheese. Sounds relatively harmless on paper, true — but wait till you get a load of the mouse who’s trying to hunt you and impede your progress. It isn’t the mouse that’s terrifying, but more the concept of something darting between crevices in a bid to trap you. It’s survival-horror 101, and it makes something so conceptually silly surprisingly creepy.

Gameplay in Cheese Escape is broken down into a couple of things — exploration, and puzzle-solving, being the two primary focal points. As the one trapped in the dark cheese-studded labyrinth, you must sift through the wards and collect items, unlock rooms, and ultimately avoid detection while searching for an escape out of the cheddar hellhole. Simple, yet oh so effective.

4. Dead Silence

If it’s a good old-fashioned romp through the sewers that you’re after, then look no further than Dead Silence, an atmospheric horror game in which up to four players must gather clues and unravel a thread of mysteries pertaining to a few missing locals. It’s a story-driven game at heart, with a fairly wide variety of puzzle and data collection segments to boot. What’s more, it’s also one of the best co-op games on Roblox, as it tests the mettle of not just one player’s abilities, but an entire collective.

As far as gameplay goes, Dead Silence involves teaming up and exploring key areas in an underwater environment—a pitch-black void in which a monster roams its every nook and cranny. The goal is simple: find evidence that helps point towards the whereabouts of several missing persons — even if it means having to battle the monstrosities that lurk deep within the shadows. Not your everyday Roblox game, all things considered.

3. The Mimic

The Mimic is an episodic horror game that draws its influence from Japanese folklore. In it, players are tasked with traversing through various tales referred to as books—short stints that focus on different creatures and conflicts with some of Japan’s most notorious urban legends. It isn’t your average Roblox platforming game by any stretch, nor is it a game that’s accommodating to the faint of heart — but it’s definitely one of the more mysterious indie titles out there.

If you’re an avid historian or general lover of all things folklore, then The Mimic is a sure-fire way to get the senses in motion. It’s evidently horror-obessesed, and it pulls on all the same heartstrings as the likes of Fatal Frame and Forbidden Siren — surprisingly well, at that. So, if it’s a romp through an unsettling world that’s rife with atmospheric turbulence and chaos you’re looking for, then gaze no further than the confines of The Mimic.

2. Doors

Roblox Games Like Doors

As far as concepts travel, Doors isn’t all that complex. In fact, it’s exactly what it sounds like — a game that centers its entire universe around a seemingly endless network of doors, locks, and mismatched combinations. Your goal, in short, is to traverse the labyrinth of rooms, and ultimately make your way to whatever exit you’re able to conjure while also under the watchful gaze of a roster of malicious spirits and tainted characters.

Doors is just as much of a puzzle game as it is a full-fledged horror, as it uses various trial and error techniques to both sway the narrative and establish an alluring sense of adventure in every session. It’s certainly one of the most rewarding games of the bunch, is what we’re saying, and it definitely provides players with enough incentives to replay the same old doors a few dozen times over. Is it the most complex horror game on the Roblox homepage? Not by a long shot. That said, it’s definitely a must-have for anyone interested in losing a handful of hours to the grind.

1. Rainbow Friends

best horror games

It isn’t a new concept — transforming cutesy plush toys into sadistic animatronics and what have you. In fact, since Five Nights at Freddy’s first dropped, the idea to exploit the innocence of childhood trinkets for the sake of creating warped horror stories has become oddly commonplace. Granted, that’s sort of why Rainbow Friends didn’t phase us all that much when it first came to the Roblox storefront a fair ways back.

Rainbow Friends transports you to the back end of a field trip gone wrong, in a world that houses rogue mascots all out to hunt anyone who’s dares to overstep their mark. Unfortunately, that’s where you and your closest friends come in — bound for the exit, but stuck behind waves of blood-deprived mascots and other bodged toys. Think Poppy Playtime, but with a rich Roblox aesthetic, and you’ll have a rough idea of what you’re going to get yourself into. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t involve anything cute and cuddly.

So, what’s your take? Will you be picking up any of the above five horror games on Roblox this month? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.

There are many to choose from, ranging from simple 2D games to more detailed 3D ones. Well, we have curated a list of the five best puzzle games on PlayStation Plus. So, let's dive in!

5. The Gardens Between

YouTube Video

Kicking off our list of the best puzzle games on PlayStation Plus is The Gardens Between. Think of it as a magical trip down memory lane. You play by guiding two buddies, Arina and Frendt, through a world that looks like mini islands. Each island is like a memory box, filled with puzzles that remind them of their past adventures. These puzzles are not just for fun. They tell stories of the good times and even the tough times the friends have been through. To solve them, you'll play around with time. Sometimes you have to go back in time to change things up!

Also, the game is a treat for the eyes with its pretty artwork, and the music is soothing. It feels like a peaceful dream where you remember all the fun you had as a kid. All in all, The Gardens Between is more than just a game. It's a heartwarming tale of friendship, reminding us of our own stories. And it's easily one of the best picks on PlayStation Plus for anyone who loves puzzles.

4. Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons

YouTube Video

Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons is a standout game on PlayStation Plus, especially for fans of puzzle-adventure games. What makes this game special? For starters, players control two brothers at the same time! This is done using the two joystick controls on the gamepad. One stick moves the older brother, and the other stick moves the younger one. This makes for fun and unique puzzles throughout their adventure. The story is simple yet touching. The two brothers are on a mission to find medicine for their sick father. Along the way, they face many challenges, but they also share many happy moments. The game shows the close bond between the brothers, making players feel connected to their journey.

The game world is beautiful. There are calm villages, big mountains, and mysterious temples to explore. Each place is detailed and feels alive, making players curious about every corner. The music in the game is also special. It matches the story's ups and downs perfectly. In short, Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons is a game that is both fun and emotional. So, if you're looking for a game that's different and heartwarming, give this one a try!

3. Thomas Was Alone

YouTube Video

Thomas Was Alone is a simple yet deep game on PlayStation Plus. It’s a puzzle game where you play with shapes like rectangles and squares. But these aren’t just regular shapes; they have feelings, dreams, and stories to tell. Mike Bithell made this game, and it’s all about helping a little red rectangle, named Thomas, get through different levels. As you proceed, you meet other shapes. Each one has a special skill. Some can jump high, while others can float on water. The game is like a big teamwork challenge. You need to figure out how to use all the shapes together to solve puzzles and move ahead.

Furthermore, a man named Danny Wallace talks during the game. He tells the story of Thomas and his friends, giving each shape a fun personality. Because of him, you start to care about these simple shapes as if they were real characters in a story. In short, Thomas Was Alone is a special game on PlayStation Plus. It’s simple to play but has a big heart.

2. Tetris Effect: Connected

YouTube Video

Everyone knows and loves Tetris, right? Tetris Effect: Connected brings a fresh spin to this classic game. At its core, this iteration retains the foundational gameplay that Tetris enthusiasts have cherished for decades. But it introduces players to a transcendent realm where dazzling visuals and soul-stirring music blend seamlessly with every move they make. When you move or drop a block, the game responds with fun sounds and colors. It feels like you're not just playing Tetris; you're part of a big, colorful show.

Moreover, the game has different modes, but “Journey Mode” is a big hit. In this mode, you travel through different places, and each one changes how Tetris looks and sounds. It's like going on a trip without leaving your couch! And as you get better, the game throws in more fun challenges. But the real fun begins in the “Connected mode”. Here, you can play with or against other people. Overall, Tetris Effect: Connected takes an old favorite and makes it new and exciting. It's definitely one of the best puzzle games on PlayStation Plus.

1. Tricky Towers

YouTube Video

Tricky Towers is like the fun block-stacking games we know but with a cool new spin. Instead of just placing blocks, here you need to make sure your tower doesn't fall. And trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds!

Here’s the fun part: while building, you can use magic to help yourself or make things tough for others. So, it's not just about stacking, but also playing smart. The blocks act like they would in real life, which means if you don’t balance them right, they might tumble down. So, if you're looking for a game that's easy to pick up but hard to put down, Tricky Towers is one of the best puzzle games on PlayStation Plus.

So, what's your take on these best picks? Are there any other titles on PlayStation Plus that you believe deserve a mention? Let us know your thoughts on our socials here.

The Final Fantasy series transcends mere games; it's a timeless legacy passed down through generations. With each new chapter comes the opus of wonder. For seasoned adventurers, this franchise has withstood the test of time. With 16 titles (20 if you include X-2, 13-2, Lightning Returns, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake) gracing its series, each game offers a wealth of adventure as standalone masterpieces. As a novice player, you can decide where to begin, for the journey into this enchanting universe can start with any title.

But there is much debate around the series' latest entrant and its predecessor. Final Fantasy 15 and 16 are the pinnacles of the franchises' success. Each boasts improved gameplay, graphics, and a captivating storyline. So which of the two takes the cake? Let's find out below in Final Fantasy 15 vs Final Fantasy 16.

What is Final Fantasy 15?

Final Fantasy 15 Vs Final Fantasy 16

As the title suggests, this is the fifteenth instalment of the Final Fantasy series. Making its debut in 2016, this title merges the old and new for a wholesome fantasy experience. Although fans of the series were not utterly impressed by the game compared to its predecessor, the developer, Square Enix, dared to step into unknown water to defy all our expectations.

Final Fantasy 15 takes place in the land of Eos. Like any other game where liberation takes the core, an unruly reign by Niflheim threatens the sovereign structure of the nation. Sticking to tradition, the game bestows the role of hero on the to-be-king, Noctis Lucis Caelum. He doesn't take on this perilous journey alone; he is accompanied by three friends; Ignis Scientia, Prompto Argentum, and Gladiolus Amicitia.

The game depicts the theme of friendship as the four characters travel to retrieve a stolen artifact. It gives you something to relate to. For instance, for the Prince, his success depends not on who he is but on the actions and relations he creates. You may eventually stop the bad guy and restore normalcy to Eos, but these are not the only highlighting moments.

Furthermore, the game takes an absolute turn from turn-based systems, introducing a new real of real-time combat. The game's active x battle system is the closest any game in the franchise has gotten to full-on-real-time battles-except Final Fantasy 16.

What is Final Fantasy 16?

Final Fantasy 16

The latest entrant in the series, Final Fantasy 16, steps into the shoes of predecessors, sticking to the core theme of humanity. The game reminds us of the intricate values that shape society amidst a Game of Thrones-themed visual. This 16th title debuted in 2023 and launched as a timed exclusive for PlayStation 5.

Like its predecessor, the storyline centers on the magical powers of the Crystal. This time, the story takes place in the fictional Valisthea. The land is full of magical crystals that grant mythical powers to its inhabitants. However, a ravaging Blight causes the Crystal's aether to run low.

In the midst, the protagonist arises. Clive Rosfield is the firstborn son of one of the core nation's ruling families. In his journey, Clive is joined by Torgal, his hound, and Cidolfus Telamon.

The game continues with the legacy set by Final Fantasy 14 by gearing the franchise to a more fantasy outlook, more of a Westeros appeal. The developers seemingly communicate that this is a serious video game for grown-ups. However, despite the obscene language and gory deaths, the essence of Final Fantasy still remains.

Additionally, this iconic series undergoes a transformative metamorphosis, departing from its traditional RPG roots to embrace a new evolution within the character action genre. The title merges lightning-quick reflexes with the intricacies of character-building RPG mechanics. Though not without flaws, the combat achieves brilliance within the realm of action RPGs.

Gameplay

Final Fantasy 15 Vs Final Fantasy 16

The Final Fantasy series is known to be one to shake things up. This is highly apparent in the franchise's previous titles. Final Fantasy 16 deviates from the RPG foundation and builds on character action. The game takes a modem approach to fantasy, granting boundless yet limited exploration opportunities.

From face value, both games introduce new characters and fantasy locations where the action occurs. As standalone titles, you need not complete one game to comprehend what the other entails. Perhaps the franchise's true enchantment lies in weaving uncharted destinies and vibrant personas while steadfastly embracing the very essence that breathes life into its core.

Moreover, FF 15 provides the option of choosing between party members. You can play as Prince Noctis or control one of his friends, Ignis, Prompto, and Gladiolus. Each companion serves a different combat role; you can equip them with a primary and secondary arm.

In contrast, FF 16 grants you control over one character, the protagonist. AI controls the rest of the party. Moreover, Clive's hound companion can perform special attacks when instructed and also heal your character.

Additionally, combat remains to be critical in both titles. The action occurs in real-time in both games; however, FF 15 spruces things up with the active x battle system. The system integrates realism in battle, with mid-fights ensuing when you least expect it. Moreover, the change from combat to explorations, and vice versa, is seamless. FF 16 enhances this combat system and adds a touch of cinematic panache to it.

Furthermore, while FF 15 occurs in an open-world environment, FF 16 features segmented open environments. You can explore the land masses in both games on foot or via Chocobos. The Chocobos are galliform birds present in the series.

Verdict

When all is said and done, only one will emerge victorious. Ladies and Gentlemen, we present to you Final Fantasy 16. The game puts cinematic storytelling on the map while adhering to core pretexts that give the Final Fantasy series its glory.

Not to say that its predecessor is a lesser game. No Sirree! In fact, Final Fantasy 15's open world nails exploration, granting players countless hours to traverse the meticulously detailed environment. FF 16's semi-open world limits exploration. This could be why Square Enix took less time to develop the game than its counterpart.

Nevertheless, both titles are exquisite productions of the developer, but granted the enhancements in the new title, our scales tip in favor of Final Fantasy 16.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our Final Fantasy 15 vs Final Fantasy 16 verdict? Let us know your thoughts on our socials here.

Activision has finally lifted the veil on the third installment in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare saga, which, going by its sneaky logo drop that aired earlier this week, will be heading to all major platforms on November 10, 2023. Not that this comes as much of a surprise, what with its creators revealing its plans to rebuild the entire trilogy from the ground up a fair while back. It was always in the cards, and it goes without saying that, even with a launch date slated so close to the end of the year, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is bound to be one of the best-selling games of 2023, regardless.

Unfortunately, until either Infinity Ward, Activision, or Sledgehammer Games reveals the next batch of updates (in a Warzone 2.0 update, apparently), we won’t really know every minor detail. For what it’s worth, though, here’s everything we can currently tell you based on the information provided to date. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: what, when, and why?

What Is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is an upcoming first-person shooter by Sledgehammer Games, as well as a direct sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. Going by what’s been said so far, the game will pick up where it left off in the second remake, so on the off chance that you have yet to experience the last campaign, then perhaps now’s the time to brush up on the ins and outs and familiarize yourself with its characters and ongoing feuds.

On another note, in case you’ve yet to brush through the timeline in its entirety, it is worth mentioning that Call of Duty Modern Warfare is a reboot, and thus loosely based on the original trilogy that dropped just over a decade ago. So, if you thought the gift of foresight would help in this situation — think again, basically. Granted, we can expect to see our fair share of similarities, including characters, settings, and plot points, but if the first two reboots are anything to go by, then we can definitely expect to see something a little different from what released back in 2011.

Story

The last we saw of Modern Warfare was in 2022, at which point the conclusion unearthed a new global threat that seemingly pointed towards the scheming hands of Vladimir Makarov. Going by the trailer that dropped earlier this week, Modern Warfare 3 will be casting its focus over to this enemy, who, up until this point, has remained an underlying threat to Captain Price and the squad’s efforts to retain balance and order.

Of course, until Sledgehammer Games pick up the slack and start working on a new pre-launch trailer to outline the intricacies and what have you, we won’t really know how this conflict with Makarov will unravel. Needless to say that we can expect another treasure trove of in-game details at some stage over the next several weeks.

Gameplay

Having paved the way for most modern first-person shooters these past twenty-something years, it’s safe to say that most, if not all gamers with an interest in the genre will know exactly what to expect in Modern Warfare 3. Again, it’s a first-person shooter at heart, with its relatively short but surprisingly sprightly single-player campaign, and its ever-popular online multiplayer counterpart, which we’ll tap into shortly. So, for the time being, it’s best to think of it as a booster pack for Modern Warfare 2, if anything.

So, what’s going to happen to Warzone, then? Well, you can rest assured that it won’t be shutting its servers down anytime soon. In fact, there’ll be a whole new season to look forward to in December 2023, roughly one month after Modern Warfare 3 goes live. What’s more, it’ll introduce a whole new large-scale map, which will be called Las Almas.

In addition to the new campaign and Warzone season, word has it there’ll also be a new Zombies mode, too, which will be dubbed “Outbreak 2.0.” As for whether this will come bundled in with the base game or offered as paid DLC as part of a future update is still unknown. Either way, we can definitely expect to see all the classic modes and a few additional modernized bells and whistles to boot.

Development

It’s been a bit of a strange road for Modern Warfare, what with Activision first announcing its plans to release several new additions for the Warzone counterpart over 2022, and then ultimately deciding to develop Modern Warfare 3 only one year after the second. It wasn’t on anyone’s radar, weirdly enough, though it was something that fans of the series always knew was coming at some point on another. It just so happens that, well, it’s a couple of years sooner than anyone would’ve expected.

Modern Warfare 3 is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, the same team that brought life to Call of Duty: Vanguard back in 2021. And while the studio hasn’t had any major involvement in the Modern Warfare timeline since its initial reboot, it’s safe to say that the team will have the full support of both Infinity Ward and Treyarch, the two leading firms under the Call of Duty branding. So that’s something.

Trailer

YouTube Video

On the bright side, there is a trailer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3; it’s just a brief glimpse at its latest logo, though. And that’s somewhat surprising, seeing as we’re only a few months away from its release window. Nevertheless, you can check it out for yourself in the video embedded above.

Release Date, Platforms & Editions

The good news is, you needn’t worry about trying to find a copy of Modern Warfare 3 when it hits the shelves on November 10, 2023. In fact, you can pick it up on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. It’s unlikely that we’ll be seeing a Switch port, however, as the series itself has never really established stable ground with the handheld device. Other than that, though, you’re golden.

Interested in staying up to date with the next entry in the Call of Duty saga? If so, be sure to check in with Sledgehammer Games over on its official social feed for all the latest pre-launch updates here. If anything changes ahead of its release, we’ll be sure to fill you in on all the key details right here on gaming.net.

So, what’s your take? Will you be getting your hands on a copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 when it launches later this year? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.

For 40 years, the Nobunaga's Ambition series has propelled the turn-based grand strategy RPG simulation genre to new heights. In 1983, the series released its first of many games to come, maintaining a relatively steady stream of releases until the latest Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi in 2017. Now, the 16th entry of the beloved series is out, and fans of traditional feudal Japan settings like myself can’t sit still. Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening follows a powerful Japanese leader called Daimyō and tasks him with conquering and unifying the Warring States of 16th-century Japan.

You’re free to choose nearly all aspects of the game, which translates to lots of strategic thinking and planning ahead. You can choose time periods and the clan you’ll rule over, typically starting with a small clan and nurturing its people to their full potential. As you can imagine, being the head of a clan isn’t like a walk in the park. You’ll have to make tough economic and diplomatic decisions and sometimes be forced to use military force to unify the country.

No worries, though. We’ve compiled Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening best tips for beginners to help give you a head start so you can forgo the gruesome pain of learning the ropes and jump straight into enjoying the fantastic grand strategy playthrough Awakening has to offer.

5. Take Time Going Through the Tutorial, It Helps

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening

From the get-go, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening dumps on you an information-heavy tutorial to help you learn the ropes. It’s quite a lot to remember in the short amount of time the tutorial runs for. There are menus to explore, mechanics, units, and a massive map to wrap one’s head around. All of this is shown to you via speedy run-throughs and texts that help explain how each element works.

Despite how overwhelming it can seem and how tempting it is to forgo absorbing so much information, it’s pretty useful down the road. So, try to take down notes. Or simply to pay attention to the core gameplay illustrations. Because, for one, the tutorial cramps everything you need to know about the game and delivers it to you right up front. And two, all of it actually comes in handy when navigating the game.

4. Make Good Use of Retainers

You didn’t think unifying the whole of Japan was entirely up to you, did you? The good news is you do get help from people called retainers. These are AI officers capable of thinking and making decisions as per their own judgment. Their role is to advise you on the way forward. They do so by submitting proposals to you, which you can choose to employ in your battle strategy.

As far as retainers go, try not to ignore their submissions completely. In fact, some of the suggestions are pretty grand and can save you a lot of trouble. They can recommend promotions and gold expenditures or advise you on whether a tactical assault makes sense. In the long run, retainers save you money and headaches down the road.

While at it, you may want to take note of retainers who come through with feasible plans. Then, promote them so they get a boost of their skills and abilities. Say, a retainer has helped you win a battle. You can promote them so they receive buffs like quicker refills of their Equipment Gauge Restoration meter.

3. Landholders Should Stay Close

In addition to retainers, you can delegate “lord” and “landholder” roles to people in the clan. While lords are heads of castles, landholders manage their own territories while also helping lords with their duties. Lords and landholders work in tangent with one another, with the landholder role running more extensively.

Now in real life, it may make sense to spread out landholders so they cover as much land, and thus territory, as possible. However, it can cause more harm than good because landholders and lords often rely on one another. Essentially, the closer they are to each other, the easier they can work together to improve the clan’s status, resulting in stronger territories against enemy troops.

Speaking of lords and their castles…

2. The Way of the Castle

Nobunaga’s Ambition Awakening retainers

Castles have varied roles. Some are built as a defense base to withstand siege attacks. Others are more of a “helper” base to support the main base. So say enemy troops invade a defense base, and the castle starts to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemies, they can draw more soldiers to protect it from falling from the helper base.

There’s also a “resupply” base. This helps provide additional supplies to marches and soldiers on long-term expeditions who may pass by on the way to their next battle. Castles also work in tangent with one another, the same way landholders and lords do. So, strategic placement of castles (and landholders) is necessary to effectively run civil affairs and protect your clan from enemy invasion.

1. War Tactics

Since you can employ four war tactics: joint, ranged, bolster, and feint, it’s important to consider them all extensively before making a decision. If you’re an aggressive type of player, you may want to go for the first three.

A joint attack combines all troops, marching them off toward the same target. On the other hand, ranged spreads out your troops to march toward multiple castles of the same enemy clan and attack them all at once. Lastly, bolster sends out backup to allied troops in another province.

If none of the aggressive tactics work for you, you can use feints to lure the enemy out of the safety of their borders and find creative ways to take them down. Often, feint helps to save as many of your soldiers as possible, seeing as the enemy troops won’t have the protection of their castles. Still, if your troops aren’t strong enough, they can get easily wiped out.

On the flip side, several war tactics help create plenty of room to choose a defense strategy plan wisely. Precisely, where to deploy your defense and how to intercept enemy troops at the points where they expect it least.

Imagine being in two places at the same time – that's how it feels! What's really cool is that you see both of these worlds on your screen, side by side. So, one moment you might be in a regular room, and next to it, you see the same room but all ghostly and spooky. This makes the game feel different from other scary games. It's like trying to solve two puzzles at the same time.

But The Medium isn't just about being scared by sudden surprises. It's the creepy feeling it gives as you play, making you wonder what's around the next corner. so, if you're looking for something spooky and new to play, this is one of the best choices on PlayStation Plus!

But what makes Prey one of the best horror games on PlayStation Plus is how it keeps you guessing. Because the aliens can be anything, players are always on their toes. The game's space setting, combined with a great story, makes it really fun and scary. So, if you like space adventures and things that go bump in the night, Prey is perfect for you.

3. The Quarry

YouTube Video

But as night comes, things get scary. Instead of fun and laughter, there are strange noises and creepy shadows. And soon, you all realize that there's danger all around. This is what playing The Quarry feels like.

Or you can all sit together and play, each taking charge of a character. All in all, The Quarry stands out as one of the best horror games on PlayStation Plus.

2. Dead by Daylight

YouTube Video

Dead by Daylight is a standout in the list of best horror games on PlayStation Plus. Think of it as a high-tension game of hide and seek. Four players try to fix machines to escape, while another player, the killer, tries to catch them. What makes it fun? The killer is not a computer. It's another real person, so you never know what they'll do next. The game always feels fresh. Why? There are many different characters and places to play in. Each character, whether it's a survivor or a killer, has special skills. This means every match you play can be a new challenge.

What's really exciting about Dead by Daylight is that it pulls from famous horror stories. There are levels that feel like haunted houses or creepy forests. And the killers? Some might remind you of scary movie villains, each with its own special power. On the other side, survivors have tools and tricks to help them escape. But the best part? Playing with others. Sometimes you save a teammate, other times you're running for your life. It's always a new story, making Dead by Daylight a must-play on PlayStation Plus.

1. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

YouTube Video

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard tops the list of the best horror games on PlayStation Plus, and for good reason. Players step into Ethan Winters' shoes and explore a spooky, old house in Louisiana. It's more than just a scary game. Every corner and shadow feels real and dangerous. What makes this game special? Well, it's all about the player's view. You see everything up close like you're really there. This makes the scary parts even scarier. You're not just playing; you're living the horror. There are monsters, and there's also a strange family in the house. You never know what's going to happen next.

The game has a great story too. Ethan is looking for his lost wife, but he finds so much more. There are many secrets in the house. Some of these secrets are very sad, and others are scary. One of the best ways to immerse yourself in a new practice, skill, or trade is with simulation games. Aiming to provide the most life-like and realistic portrayal of its counterparts, simulation games, to many people's surprise, make even the most dull ideas somewhat enjoyable. Take PowerWash Simulator for example. Unfortunately, that wonderful simulator isn't part of the PlayStation Plus game catalog. But don't fret, we've got five of the best simulation games on PlayStation Plus in August right below. So, read on to find out what they are!

5. Cities: Skylines

YouTube Video

City builders used to be the heart of simulation games before more sporadic ideas began to appear on the market. However, city builders continue to reign supreme and provide one of the best simulation experiences around. Thankfully, PlayStation Plus has you covered with Cities: Skylines, an in-depth city-builder where you can build a small beach-side town or a metropolis that soars amongst the clouds.

As the mayor of this fictitious city, you are in charge of everything, including road construction, education, emergency services, and more. However, you must always be mindful of maintaining your economy, or your city will quickly become a ghost town. It can be a bit overwhelming at the start, so be sure to check out our Cities: Skylines tips for beginners. Nonetheless, Cities: Skylines is one of the best simulation games for creating your own customized city from the ground up, with virtually limitless creative possibilities.

4. Bee Simulator

YouTube Video

As we said, simulation games can make even the dullest ideas into exciting gaming experiences, just take the case of Bee Simulator. There really are no strings attached; in Bee Simulator you play through the eyes of a bee living in Central Park in New York City. That sounds suspiciously similar to the plot of The Bee Movie, but the games piqued our curiosity, so we'll let it slide. Plus, Bee Simulator has a separate narrative, so it's not all directly tied to the movie, the two just share a similar setting.

Nonetheless, as a hard-working New Yorker bee, you can take part in bee races, collect pollen from flowers, fight dangerous wasps, and take on other missions from your queen bee. Overall, there is a lot to see and do in Central Park, but there is one overriding aim to all of this exploration. Humans are attempting to cut down the tree that houses your Hive. As a result, it falls on your wings to stop them and save your swarm. Not many simulation games have a story, or one with this big of stakes for that matter, which is why Bee Simulator is one of the best simulation games you on PlayStation Plus.

3. Car Mechanic Simulator

YouTube Video

While some simulation games are intended to be humorous, others are meant to be taken seriously. One game that players shouldn't take lightly is Car Mechanic Simulator. If you're a car aficionado, this game is right down your alley. However, if cars aren't exactly your area of expertise, well then we'll just say there is a lot you can learn from this game. Essentially, the whole point of Car Mechanic Simulator is to take old pieces of junk and flip them into dazzling vehicles which you then sell for a profit.

The concept may sound simple, however, Car Mechanic Simulator is an extremely in-depth simulator that it almost requires you to know your stuff before diving in. Just take into consideration that there are a total of 48 cars, 10+ repair tools, and over 1000+ parts to toy with. As a result, it's pretty evident Car Mechanic Simulator takes its car detailing very seriously. Nonetheless, it's one of the best simulation games on PlayStation Plus that can also teach you a thing or two.

2. Lawn Mowing Simulator

YouTube Video

Another simulation game that goes off the beaten path, but is highly satisfying to play is Lawn Mowing Simulator. Hey, if PowerWash Simulator exists, this game isn't all that surprising. Plus, who doesn't love the look of a freshly cut lawn? I digress, the game's premise is as you might expect: drive lawnmowers that are replicas of their real-life counterparts and take on contracts mowing lawns in the beautiful British countryside. While that may sound pretty simple, there is a lot more to the game than you might expect.

For starters, you can customize your mower with a plethora of attachments, such as stripe rollers, mulching kits, grass collectors, recyclers, flail decks, and more. What's more, you can build your lawnmowing company up from scratch by taking on new contracts and expanding your business. So, while it may not seem like one of the best simulation games out there, Lawn Mower Simulator is a lot more fun than you would expect.

1. Frostpunk: Console Edition

YouTube Video

Ending this list of the best simulation games on PlayStation Plus with a banger, we have Frostpunk. Although this game is essentially a city builder, it follows a premise unlike any of its competition. In Frostpunk, the planet mysteriously froze in the 19th century amidst the industrial revolution, forcing the human race to adapt to harsh conditions. As the leader of the last known civilization in the world, you must discover new technologies, explore the frozen wasteland, and above all else, keep your society alive.

So, basically, you can rule with an iron fist, or be a wholesome leader. Either way, you will be faced with difficult decisions in Frostpunks' dystopic, end-of-the-world, city-building simulator.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our top five? Are there other simulation games on PlayStation Plus you think are best? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

In the adrenaline-fueled car racing genre, two giants have emerged; Forza Horizon and The Crew Motorfest. Each vying for the coveted title of being the definitive racing game experience. Admittedly, Forza Horizon is the long-standing champion. The franchise has dominated the genre for decades with its cutting-edge graphics and intense surrealism. However, a new kid on the block may be giving the franchise a run for its money.

The Crew Motorfest is an upcoming racing title that's already whirling up a frenzy in the gaming world. Primarily for its striking resemblance to Forza Horizon's concept- a conglomerate of races taking place during a festival.

But can The Crew Motorfest seize the checkered flag of victory, or will it succumb to the legacy established by Forza? Prepare yourself for the ultimate showdown of speed titans as we pit Forza Horizon against The Crew Motorfest to determine the true ruler of the racing realm. Here's Forza Horizon vs The Crew Motorfest.

What is Forza Horizon?

Forza Horizon

Forza Horizon, developed by Playground Games and published by Microsoft Studios, has become a standout title in the racing game genre since its debut in 2012. Its legacy is etched in the chronicles of gaming history, enticing players with cutting-edge graphics, an extensive fleet of legendary cars, and a heart-pounding sense of speed.

The game's defining feature is its immersive open-world setting. Each game in the series takes place in a different locale, offering players diverse environments to explore. From scenic Colorado in Forza Horizon to picturesque Australia in Forza Horizon 3 and beautiful Britain in Forza Horizon 4, the series showcases stunning landscapes and varied terrains.

Players can roam the vast open world, participate in many events, and discover hidden collectibles. The dynamic day-night cycle and weather system add an extra layer of realism, making the experience truly immersive. While some racing games focus on hyperrealistic simulations, Forza Horizon delivers a unique and enjoyable experience that caters to a broader audience without sacrificing the thrill of racing.

What is The Crew Motorfest?

Forza Horizon

Ubisoft Ivory Tower is cooking up a new open-world racing game that, in a great deal, compares to Forza Horizon. The game seeks to breathe life into a decade-old series, The Crew. The series, a product of Ubisoft Ivory Towers' creation, launched in 2014 to a mixed reception. Users cited issues of technical glitches and others due to the game's always online aspect. But this didn't quell the developer's ambitious move of transforming racing.

The upcoming title is a sequel to The Crew 2 and is the third title in the series. As stated, the game will feature a similar premise to Forza Horizon. Instead of Colorado's flashy and scenic streets, The Crew Motorfest takes you on a wild ride to tropical O'ahu. So gear up for the ride of your life.

The good news is you won't be waiting in the epochs for long, since the game is expected to launch on September 14, 2023.

Furthermore, the game won't limit you to racing cars. Players can ride a boat or opt to fly a plane. Plus, the game's car collection is insane. It doesn't limit you to supercharged cars only. You can cruise the streets in a monster truck or leave dust clouds in your wake with an F1 automobile.

Gameplay

Forza Horizon Vs The Crew Motorfest

One of Forza Horizon's greatest strengths is its accessibility to seasoned racing enthusiasts and casual gamers. The game strikes a perfect balance between arcade-style gameplay and realistic driving mechanics. As a beginner, you can enjoy the game's forgiving physics and driving assists. Advanced players can fine-tune their driving skills with manual shifting and simulation-like settings.

Moreover, Forza Horizon boasts an extensive collection of hundreds of meticulously recreated cars, each with unique handling characteristics and performance attributes. Youcan own and modify your dream cars, from classic models to the latest supercars, which adds a sense of personalization and ownership to the gameplay.

The game's detailed customization options allow you to tune and upgrade vehicles to suit different terrains and racing disciplines. This depth of customization extends to visual modifications, letting players add decals, paint jobs, and body kits to create truly unique rides.

In contrast, The Crew Motorfest introduces Playlists – a series of thematic episodes where seasonal rewards, unique events, and vehicles beckon from the horizon. Each playlist features a distinct design to “immerse you in a different car culture universe.” Furthermore, the new title will offer various vehicle options, from electric supercars to vintage classics.

Graphically speaking, The Crew Motorfest is on a collision course with Forza Horizon. This is especially true considering the new title's graphics are a significant upgrade from its predecessor. Although the developer has not hinted at a day/night cycle, the realism in the game is unmatched.

Additionally, The Crew's customization feature promises to be a fresh air to breath in spring. The customization is like nothing we've seen from the beta versions. It allows players to tweak their cars both inside and outside. Conversely, Forza Horizon fans will also get access to this level of customization.

Verdict

To put things in perspective, Forza Horizon is a beloved game for its spectacular graphics and realism. Undoubtedly, the game takes the cake for precise car handling mechanics. The Crew Motorfest's handling may not match up to Forza, but it's on the right track.

That said, The Crew Motorfest promises a wealth of exciting gameplay, from flying planes to driving boats and cars. Also, its open-world environment with stunning graphics is one to behold. However, Ubisoft Ivory Tower still has quite the journey to match up to Forza Horizon's excellence. Granted this fact, playground Games needs to be on their feet working on the next big thing. But in the meantime, our vote goes to Forza Horizon for still being the undisputed champ of the racetrack.

The Crew Motorfest will release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. You can read more about the game in our article here.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our Forza Horizon vs The Crew Motorfest verdict? Let us know your thoughts on our socials here.

One genre of games that's responsible for countless standout titles is platformers. With a unique level design, platformers have the potential to deliver original gameplay with an intriguing story which tends to result in a well-rounded title. At the same time, some platformers are just looking to challenge and stretch the players' talents on the controller. Either way, platformers tend to offer some great gaming experiences. As a result, we've compiled this list of the best platforming games PlayStation Plus. So, if you're a PlayStation Plus member, make sure you don't miss out on playing the fantastic platformers featured below.

5. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

YouTube Video

Kicking off this list of the best platforming games on PlayStation Plus, we have a title starring two PlayStation icons, Ratchet & Clank. The pinnacle of the series, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is up for grabs to PlayStation Plus subscribers, and it is one of the most exciting action platformers to date. In the series finale, an evil robotic emperor seeks to dominate cross-dimensional travel and the worlds it can reach. Unfortunately, Ratchet & Clanks world is next on the chopping block.

By teaming up with Rivet – a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension – the squad must do everything in their power to save their world and stop this evil power from wreaking further havoc on the universe. The story itself is easy to get behind, but the best part is what it brings to the gameplay. By jumping through rifts to different realities, you will encounter a flurry of different levels, each of which offers a distinct and exciting experience. So, if you're looking for a thrilling journey, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the platformer for you.

4. Hollow Knight Voidheart Edition

YouTube Video

Being one of the most successful platformers of all time, we doubt Hollow Knight needs any introduction. Taking control of a mysterious protagonist, you will slash and dash your way in an epic action adventure through a vast ruined kingdom of insects and heroes. As you uncover the kingdom's riddles, you will explore twisted caves, battle contaminated animals, and even befriend weird bugs. And the whole experience is brought together through its hand-drawn 2D style and soundtrack with over 40 songs.

Hollow Knight is without a doubt one of the best platforming games on PlayStation Plus, that will leave you wanting more. Thankfully, the game that's offered to PS Plus subscribers is the Voidheart Edition, which includes four giant content packs that expand the game with new quests, bosses, and abilities. If that isn't enough, the sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, is set to arrive in late 2023. As a result, the has never been a better time to experience one of the best platforming games of all time.

3. Dead Cells

YouTube Video

We did state that some platformers seek to push the player's perception of what they are capable of. As a result, platformers of this nature tend to have a high learning curve. However, in Dead Cells' case, it's ruthless. Dead Cells is a roguelite, metroidvania inspired, action-platformer with no checkpoints. As a result, each time you die in the game, you start from the beginning again. So you have no choice but to beat the game in one go or die trying.

That may sound merciless, but Dead Cells isn't all that cruel. When you die, you will have access to the abilities and weapons you unlocked in your previous run in your subsequent run. As a result, with each playthrough, you become stronger and gradually learn to master each level and its boss. So, while Dead Cells may sound difficult, it's equally rewarding when you beat a level or enemy that's been causing you trouble. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a platformer that will give you a challenge, look no further than Dead Cells.

2. Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Stepping away from the conventional 2D side-scrolling format of platformers and back into 3D platformers, we have Sackboy: A Big Adventure. Being one of PlayStation's most notable icons, Sackboy and his game series is the definition of a fun and light-hearted platformer. And Sackboy: A Big Adventure is not only the series' pinnacle, but it's the best game in its lineup. As a result, it easily lands as one of the best platforming games on PlayStation Plus.

In the grand finale, Sackboy embarks on a solo adventure to rescue his friends from the dastardly Vex. With a variety of challenges, puzzles, and obstacle-filled levels Sackboy: A Big Adventure presents an appropriate fun-filled challenge. One that won't make you break your controller, but not something you can do with one eye closed. Nonetheless, if you're searching for a stress-free platformer with some entertaining gameplay, you can't go wrong with Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

1. Celeste

Taking the number one spot for the best platforming games on PlayStation Plus is Celeste. In this 8-bit adventure, you play as protagonist Madeline, who traverses up Celeste Mountain as she confronts and learns to overcome her inner demons. As a result, Celeste is a self-discovery game that has a profound impact on the player. It may only have three controls (jump, air-dash, and climb), but the levels add a layer of depth to the gameplay, and the story starts to weigh on you the deeper you go. Or in this case, I should say the higher you go. Nonetheless, if you're in need of a platformer that will pull on your heartstrings, Celeste will do the trick.

When you think of racing games, you often imagine sleek cars racing at top speeds. But Wreckfest takes a different turn. It's all about the thrill of smashing cars and surviving intense races. This makes the races feel real and thrilling. Each time you play, the twists and turns on the tracks feel different, especially when you add in the unpredictable crashes.

But there's more to the game than just racing and crashing. You can also customize your car. Want a stronger bumper or a roll cage to protect your car during the wild races? You can add those. And when you race, you're not just up against other players. The game has smart computer-controlled cars that make every race feel fresh and challenging. Overall, it's one of the best racing games on Xbox Game Pass and offers a unique twist on the traditional racing game experience.

MotoGP 22 is one of the best racing games on Xbox Game Pass, and it's all about motorcycle racing. This game lets you race over 120 riders on more than 20 real-world tracks from the 2022 season. Plus, if you like older races, you can play events from the famous 2009 season. You'll get to watch cool videos from real races back then, with a guy named Mark Neale talking about the highlights.

The cherry on the top, however, is the new multiplayer mode. For the first time, the franchise introduces a split-screen feature, enabling friends to dive into the world of MotoGP head-to-head. Next, the game looks super real. The racers, the bikes, even the areas where the teams hang out – all of it looks like you're watching a real race on TV. Plus, you can change how things look, from the color of your bike to what your racer wears.

This means each race feels new and fun. Plus, you don't just race alone. You can join friends for fun challenges.

Playing with others is a big part of the game. There's an area called the Horizon Arcade where you can team up for fun races. You can also meet new people and do races or challenges together. Everyone helps in creating the game's story, which makes it more interesting. Additionally, you can even change how your car looks, like its paint or other small details.
