Best PlayStation Exclusives on PlayStation Plus

It's no secret that PlayStation and Xbox go toe-to-toe in their aspirations to be the best gaming console. The most recent bout we're seeing is with their subscription-based services, like PlayStation Plus, and Xbox Game Pass. Both are great services that offer a handful of titles to gamers, but exclusive games seem to be deciding factors on which subscription to go with. That's why today we're looking at the best PlayStation exclusives on PlayStation Plus, to see the best PS4 and PS5 consoles have to offer.

What's also no secret is that PlayStation, from past history, has straight-up dominated Xbox when it comes to exclusive games. It feels like every big RPG or ARPG title seems to come in as a PlayStation exclusive, and then slowly makes its way over to PlayStation Plus. Now there are a handful of PlayStation exclusives on PlayStation Plus and we want to know which games make up the five best. We only warn you that after seeing the games on this list, you'll be very enticed to become a PlayStation gamer and join PlayStation Plus.

5. Bloodborne

Bloodborne Debut Trailer | Face Your Fears | PlayStation 4 Action RPG

FromSoftware is well known for making some of the most difficult games in gaming. With that, they've delivered a lot of these games as PlayStation Exclusives. Such as the Demon Souls, which is a noteworthy contender to be on this list. However, we chose Bloodborne over Demon Souls as the FromSoftware exclusive to land on this list. Mostly because we want the best representation of FromSoftware's difficulty and immersion in games, and Bloodborne is it.

Many gamers view Bloodborne's gameplay as the most difficult of all FromSoftware's games, and that includes titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring. So you can expect to prepare for a challenge because Bloodborne is undoubtedly delivering it. However, many players also prefer the game for the much grimmer atmosphere it incorporates into this installment classifying Bloodborne as more of a horror ARPG. Highly difficult and equally immersive, Bloodborne is a FromSoftware PlayStation exclusive you won't want to miss out on playing.

4. Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima - Official Trailer | The Game Awards

If you're looking for a truly beautiful game, in atmosphere and narrative, then Ghost of Tsushima is an easy pick. And we truly mean it, we could spend hours running around taking cinematic screenshots in this game; although it does have a lot more to offer than just that. Such as a rich story and skill-based combat that is really fun to learn, then further use once you do.

The story of Ghost of Tsushima is based on historical events from 1264 when the Mongol Empire attacked Japan on the island of Tsushima. Even though all of the characters and the majority of the plot are made up, it's a compelling story. And the fact that it is based on genuine events demonstrates that some thought has gone into the games story as well as the historical accuracy of the gameplay. Plus, once you've mastered the combat, that's when the real fun begins.

3. The Last of Us Remastered

The Last of Us Remastered - Launch Trailer | PS4

Even in the summer of 2022, It's hard not to have The Last of Us still contending as one of the best PlayStation Exclusives on PS Plus. Even almost a decade later, the game is easily PlayStation's best exclusive, next to God of War, of course. However, we can resolve the issue of which exclusive is superior in the future. What we can agree on now is that The Last of Us is one of the best action-adventure games ever released, and it's achieved all of this popularity as a PlayStation exclusive.

That's why it's still worth checking out The Last of Us remastered for the PlayStation 4. Especially to get you in the mood for when The Last of Us Part 1 remake for PS5 comes out on September 2nd. You may be hesitant to play this version before the PS5 remake, but The Last of Us is a game you'll most likely wind up seeing yourself come back for another playthrough. The relationship between Joel and Ellie in the infested dystopia is just too gripping to experience only once. It will also be interesting to compare the PS4 remaster to the PS5 remake, which are eight years apart.

2. God of War

God of War – Story Trailer | PS4

Want a game about Greek Mythology? How about an emotional narrative between a boy and his Father? Ok, you just want non-stop action and epic battles. Well, God of War has all of that wrapped into one perfectly executed action-adventure game. After all, there is a reason God of War won Game of the Year in 2018. And with the next installment, God of War Ragnorok, releasing in November, there's never been a better time to dive into the first game.

Being one of PlayStation's best exclusives, it's just granted you have to play this game if you're already a part of PS Plus. It's a beautiful title in all aspects, and if you haven't played it yet, we suggest dropping whatever it is you are playing to experience this title. This is another game that you'll find yourself coming back to play as it's truly a masterpiece that is worth being replayed. Let's just hope we can say the same for God of War Ragnorok when it releases.

1. Stray

Stray - Teaser Trailer | PS5

Right now, the best PlayStation Exclusive on PS Plus has to be Stray. The game is about a lost cat who's trying to find his way out of a futuristic neon city. Then, as expected, you find yourself in more trouble than you bargained for and the story takes off. It may not be rootin' tootin' gun-slinging action, but it's an original concept and one that's been done really well by AnnaPurna Interactive. Mainly succeeding on the atmosphere and immersion of the game.

Since, after all, no other game lets you move, play, and feel like a cat for eight hours straight. The only thing that could make the game more immersive is a first-person mode. But that's just begging for motion sickness. Getting back to the point, Stray is an original concept with a very atmospheric map, neat gameplay, and a rather unique story to go with it. Making it the perfect game to conclude your summer with, especially if you want an original experience.
